Interactive Poetry

Interactivity is a feature of nowaday’s websites. More and more, users want to be able to bring their contribution to what they see, they want to express their opinions, they want to share their thoughts. This is why blogs are so popular, thanks to the commenting facilities.

This is how a new poetic enterprise was born: the Dirty Blue Widgets poetry jam sessions, where everybody can add to the published poems, by using the comment boxes. This website appeared thanks to an SEO contest, where contestants try to rank in Google for “Dirty Blue Widgets” as high as they can. The best one will win a prize. Meanwhile, they try to promote their specially developed sites as well as they can: some of them make videos and publish them on YouTube, MetaCafe and other video places on the web, some others do podcasting, and all of them try to interact with their community, thus spreading the word about their attempt. Who’s going to win? It is too early to tell, as the contest will end in January or February 2009.
